A mobile Greenhouse made by Irfon Davies for a recent project I was a creative Agent for the Lead Schools with the Arts Council of Wales.
The nursery setting focused on transition through emotions, space and health through nature. A long ongoing conversation was about how the children transitioned from meithrin to school and we wanted the whole school to feel involved with the process. The Meithrin had only moved into the school relatively recently.
Some of the youngest members were only 18 months and the oldest five years. So lots of challenges. But worthwhile opportunity neither the less.
One of the other challenges the meithrin faced was not a lack of space but a lack of transitional space and this co created wheelbarrow greenhouse helps the tots work in their play area and transition to the other garden areas with their plants.
Artists involved with the project were Alice Briggs and Irfon Davies. Lots of shared learning and this transition vehicle that crossed boundaries.
